Technology for the future

What do you think advanced technology the most?
To be honest, i used to believe it was greed. The want to be more powerful than anyone else, the need for riches. This may have worked in the past, but we are moving on to a new age. One where technology must be based on survival rather than wealth. The earth is changing. Climate, earthquakes, tsunamis, volcano's, hurricanes.. Ecosystems have been affected beyond repair, the proof is in the seas.

This is the future for us, more so than ever before and all while the human population continues to grow. Food will run scarce. Mass flooding will force humans to high grounds where thousands will flock to. The areas will be overpopulated and full of disease and shit. Once it passes, the earth will calm, as will the tide. New land will be formed, but it wont matter. Our technology will be useless for the most part. Vehicles thirst for oil, people thirst for oil, are we mechanical?
Greed is no longer advancing technology, it is preventing it.

  3. Ha cool pic. Greed has always stood in the way of technology though. It advances one particular strand at the expense of others, even if those others could benefit us as a race better. Look at weapons tech. We can do some cool shit with that but which would you rather? A driverless drone which can fly at mach 2 through a cityscape and take out precisely one person with no collateral damage or a cure for breast cancer? Oop look whos rambling lol.

  4. It's true, we've had electric cars for over a 100 years yet the oil companies own all the good battery technologies. coincidence?

  6. Highly cognitive read, but remember as the saying goes "necessity is the mother of invention". Although now there is still some oil and gas left and the natural disasters are (somewhat) manageable, we will remain at the status quo. I don't want to sound blindly optimistic, but I believe when we finally NEED to move past the industrial age, something somewhere will come along to help us do so.

  9. Lazyness, dishwashers, laundry machines, vacuums.

Everything comes from us being lazy and finding a way to make something do our work for us.
